A person of your experience in China would be a waste of talent. But if you insist on working here, ask for double the normal rate of pay. There maybe rules on the maximum age of a "Foreign Expert" (a title I am sure that you are more than worthy of) but like most rules here, they are unevenly enforced. So if I were you, keep on applying until a university accepts you. Stay away from private training centres and cities/town in Hainan (too hot).
