I am an American TEFL Teacher (Expat) living in Turkey. I am starting an expat blog to help our fellow American's and Britons who are thinking of moving abroad in these hard times but just don't know how to do it. If we could give them advice from American/British expats already living abroad it may ease their fears.
What I would like from you is a short story about why you decided to move abroad and a little advice about what part of the world you are living in such as:

Your first name only (optional)
Country?
How much is rent for a 1 or two bedroom apartment (approximately)?
The cost of food for two people (approximately)?
Visa/Residence requirements (are they necessary to have)?
Are there any language barriers?
Are there any language schools, or other employment opportunities, in the area for employment/the contact details of the school/place would be helpful too. (employment for professionals and non professionals)
How are the native's toward foreigners?
Any other info you think would be helpful for someone thinking of moving to where you are now.

Our fellow Americans/Britons would really appreciate the help.

Please email your advice to Tammy at englishspeaker@rocketmail.com

Thank you!
