In response to Re: Dubious business (Nick Pellatt)

The question to ask is whether training centres of any kind are really worth the money you will spend if you sing up for any of their courses.

Mostly, they seem to overcharge you in terms of the course fees you pay in relation to relatively low quality of lessons delivered in return - especially in places like China!

You cannot trust the standards of a training centre in general, and from a customer's perspective, you have to look very carefully if they really provide what they promise.

And you won't have this problem if you signed up with a language course run by a uni language department instead - if you know the uni, you will also know the standards.

I have acquired my practical Chinese language skills at a good uni in China!
