I can understand an organization asking for my c.v., as well as teaching certificate, diploma, and recommendations in their job posting, but I have concerns regarding a request for a copy of my passport. I read in the Read Me First Warning on this website that it is wise to smudge the passport number, date of birth and place, etc. Has anyone had negative experiences in sending a scanned copy of their passport before they have been offered an employment contract?
