Thank you again for such a great post! I really think it has helped me formulate an idea of what to do regarding names. I've studied Mandarin at my university for 3 years so I hope I'm able to say their names properly, haha. Perhaps I can simply let the students decide.

I really, REALLY like your idea about using photos alongside the attendance sheet. Did you print, cut, and paste the pictures or did you simply place the digital ones into the spreadsheet and print it that way? I'm with you, I would much rather keep my book-keeping simple and organized so that I don't spend too much time wrestling with it in the future.
