Even campus guards will report about you - when you go and when you come in, even when there are many people at the campus main entrance gate. You as a foreigner will be easily recognised among all other natives, right?

Strongly agree on this point. Even the guards can be irrelevant. Most schools/campuses have fully digital CCTV systems, pan/zoom, record...you name it. If it ever came to a shitfight, you're on candid camera and lose. The flipside of the coin is the security is very good, I have lived off campus in a private apartment and the so called security, even with all their hi tech gadgetry were worthless. But you pay a 90 pound girl from Sichuan 1000 yuan a month for working the night shift (sleeping) and that's what you get. The downside is as the other posters have said, a lack of privacy....mmmmmm.

To be honest I'm tired of everything about the place, but I find this thread interesting.
