I don't care how long you've been there, you obviously didn't learn anything about acceptance of other peoples ideologies. As someone state previous, a reason Chinese view privacy differently is because of their deeply rooted Confucian values.

Being an old guy who spent more time in China doesn't make you more right. You need to open your mind and realize the truth about ideologies, they are learned. Privacy is an idea that has a different understanding in different cultures. This isn't something for a foreigner to mess with.

Oh and to the guy bashing the free market. The Western World has enjoyed its prosperity due to the Western idea of Free Market. We are having a bad phase now, and its easy to bash it, but when you look at the long term advantages, its been a great success. I mean the only reason anyone gives a rats ass about the English language is directly correlated to the free market. You should really realize this being an expat whose living in a country which is prospering as they open their market up.

Read your history books, or hell even Wikipedia. China waited til Mao died before they even muttered a word about opening markets and privatization. China was a absolute slum then, some 40 MILLION Chinese died when they made their farmland communial. How did they die? Starvation. Production went down and it caused the single most devasting famine in human history. Now so many bussinesses are privatized in China to the point where over 60% of Chinese work in private bussinesses. Yes, a Chinese private bussiness operates differently from a Western private bussiness but its more open than a Chinese government operation.

China is smart, maybe they do things differently and we think what they do could be wrong, some things are wrong. They are changing on their own and honestly, it doesnt seem like they need our help.

That being said, modern America and America pre-recession was far from the free market it was in previous years.
