Starting on January 1, 2011
* The criminal background check record must be obtained through the federal police, not local, city-level, or state-level police. An Apostille over this is required as before.
* Canadian teachers need to obtain their criminal background check record through the RCMP, and have it notarized by the Korean Consulate.
* The criminal background check record will not be required if the teacher once submitted it and obtained an E2 visa, and is re-applying for the second time. If the gap between two contracts is less than 3 months, they do not need to get another criminal background cheecord.
