As for your complaints about the apartment, half of what you list is normal for any country in Latin America. Too bad you're not ready to embrace another way of living.
Let's check one of the issues about the apartment:
1.Weekly tarantula visit!
2. risk of being electrocuted in the shower (electricity and water never go well if u didnt know!)
3. being scalded in the shower!
I have a friend who owns an apartment in Lima, and he never mentioned any of this as being normal?
