Aston is one of those schools that has had mixed reviews, and not as many bad ones as EF, but bad enough. Complaining about a franchise location is more or less a waste of time, nothing will be done. Aston is itself a pretty lousy place to work. The pay is indeed very bad, and the school itself it about as tight fisted as can be. You won't get your own apartment, you'll be forced to share. If you want your own place you will pay all initial fees. Not sure what the housing allowance is but no doubt it is sub par, if they even provide one anymore.

Aston has a lot of gimmicks going on, where they offer many different work "packages" with each package offering a different amount of hours, work days, and pay. However, no matter what package you choose, it won't make any real difference from what I have heard. You'll still be required to work over time, and will often not get paid for it. The individual packages are nothing more then a hook to catch you and draw you in. once they have you, all rules are pretty much off.

As Aston is a franchise group there is a lot of inconsistency, but you can be assured of one thing, they will almost always be poorly run, and by a greedy boss and incompetent staff, these are the only things you can really count on it seems. I advise people avoid all franchise schools in China, they seem to be the worst of the worst. Aston and EF are the biggest, and also the worst. Stay away, or you'll likely be sorry.
