Letter of Resease: Please clarify - ESL discussion

In response to depends of the contract you signed (Jason Lee)
I am working in Korea under E2 visa.
My contract is ending on 21st June 2005.
I am going to my country on 17th May 2005.
Now I signed a contract for other university, which starts from 15 June 2005. Just one week overlap in the contract.
Did I need to take "Letter of Release" to process my visa issuance for new contract.
Please tell me what are the other possibilities.
