Hello,
I am a fourth grade teacher and I am getting a new
student from Brazil who only speaks Portuguese.
HE will meet with the ESL teacher for an hour a day
but I have no idea what to do with him for the rest
of the day! Any suggestions? What activities should
I have him do? Should I teach him the alphabet and reading the way I would teach a first grader or approach it differently? I am beyond bogged down about this! I thought I was through the challenge of my first year teaching and now I face an even bigger challenge!
