Last place I taught at, I met a Westerner with a Chinese wife he had met and marroed in his homeland. She gave him a lot of trouble as she was stuck-up and had a bad temper. That was despite her dodgy English and the fact she had never had a decent job abroad. I felt sorry for the old guy. I'd be surprised if they are still together.
The trouble is that gentle Asian women don't allow themselves to get romantically involved with westerners generally speaking. Usually, aggressive and avaricious Chinese women make themselves available to foreigners. It is probably a mistake to get involved with them.
