Would you really want to go back to some pressure cooker city like Sydney, London, or Chicago and work 60 or 70 hours a week and put up with all the BS and stress? Then waste two hours every day ( or more ) stuck on a freeway or sitting in a train or bus. I for one don't! I'll stay here and get my 6000 a month for 14 hours a week.
You pose a fair question, and one that needs to be explored.
I left China and found nothing but depression, unemployment and unhappiness back home. "Friends" and indeed family had moved on. For them, your tales of China cease to be interesting after a day or two and you are left with nothing to do but look for work, and also no chances of finding a woman.
London, in England, is an expensive and crowded place. You'd need a great job and a house just to even contemplate it.
