Further revelations

It appears that Bo Xilai's wife and an assistant to the family are "highly suspected" of murdering Neil Heywood according to Xinhua.

I was expecting that there would be something of a white wash involving this case particularly given that the Chinese authorities started by declaring the death as alcohol related and then burnt the body. It's encouraging that the case seems to have been re-opened and that justice may yet be served.

As well as organised crime and corruption in China, the case is raising some serious doubts as to political stability of 'the party'. I'm sure that certain members of the party will see the downfall of Bo Xilai as political maneuvering as much as it is a criminal investigation. It's no secret that Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao's ideas for the future of China did not match those of Bo Xilai's who had been touted as a future leader of the party. Therefore, is it that this scandal has as much to do with the current leadership looking to protect it's legacy as it does with removing a corrupt official from office?
