Aston English is an interesting company. It is a very fast growing company that sadly is growing too fast. The company itself is good but it is the individual schools with a poor manager that are poorly run. They do not give much training to their managers. If you were a good teacher at a particular school and got along good with that manager you would be fast tracked into a managers position at a school. Their are good managers with Aston English but there are a lot of terrible ones too. The school in Xian has now had several terrible managers in a row. These managers do not communicate well with the teachers and that is important when you have 15 or more foreign teachers. You soon build a wide gap between management and the teachers; who are the money earners for your school. Here also you have your assistant managers and teacher trainers who do not like to work and are hard to find when you have questions for them. I have taught at other Aston English schools and this was not the case at those schools but it is in Xian. Team work was a word that no one thought of as everyone got along so well but in Xian it is a word that they have no idea of the meaning of.

So if you want to come to China and Aston English has offered you a position in another city take it by all means but keep away from the Xian School is my advice...
