It now appears likely that the Chinese authorities will extend their ban on cinemas showing foreign movies until the end of August. This means that anyone hoping to see the latest batman movie will have to wait until September for the privilege. The delay is then likely to be exasperated by the big American based studios who fear a log jam of foreign movies (don't forget it's summer holiday time so there are plenty of new releases) and therefore in order to get maximum value on ticket sales will spread the release of blockbusters out over the autumn as opposed to releasing them all at the beginning of September.
