Silverb has his students to select discussion topics which'd be alright if the goals were set. However, his courses most likely have one goal only and that is TALK TALK TALK. This also wouldn't be wrong if students were guided to standardized debates with criteria and a scope supported by professional material, [edited]. But I agree that mainland English course books are garbage. They are often chosen by local employers or their directors.
