You have to remember that in any society it's the people who take care of the government and allow it to exist. Any guarantees of job being kept in countries like Japan and what is now North and South Korea can just as be attributed to it happening in spite of confucianism, and not because of it. There are other factors to consider with these two countries since they are not completely the same as china.
You look at the mass population dieoffs and genocides in china and you can see what type of "civilization" confucianism bought. It's basically self justified elitism towards the few and serfism towards the many. No wonder it attracts the worst types of people in the world!
