You are right about one thing it is cheap, but cheap does not equate with better.

Dyson has a legal team to protect his interests in China. Any idiot with a screwdriver can take one of his fan's or vacuum cleaners apart, a whole world of difference from being able to replicate one with the same quality and safety standards. Which would you trust an electric fan made in the UK, by a well known inventor, or one knocked out in some sweatshop with very little standards and slave labour? China dictates through their sheer mass of exports, they know goods made in the west are better, or why do they fly into the UK for boxing day sales hmmmmm?
