Not a good approach if their teachers don't get the same pay and benefits. It allows profit-oriented schools or "schools" to make more money on their back! Crazy.

That's why Jilin Huaqiao based in Chanchun was offering a mere 3,500 RMB/month at the low end of its pay scale for their German teacher vacancy. You see, that institute has gotten used to paying low salaries to its ELIC FTs. Fact is, without ELIC, that institute would be hard-pushed to fill those extra 15 or so EFL vacancies with expats who can teach a bit and would be prepared to accept low wages there. All ELIC FTs are expats who teach well. That institute is lucky to have them. So, from a Chinese perspective, it's not crazy, but a Godsend having ELIC there.
