I think it's an asian thing to be materialistic. Filipinos and koreans are just as bad. I heard stories of korean girls demanding 10,000 USD shoes from their boyfriends/husbands. Also Taiwanese women are very demanding and materialistic, I know this from some saps who married those. I've met some and they are very bitchy and obnoxious and like designer goods and look down on things they deem cheap or for poor people, horrible culture imho!!!!
