While visiting the still very new and pristine looking Nanjing Massacre Memorial Museum in the south of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, I happened upon this startling document which I have attached as photography was allowed inside. Seems he got a medal and a letter of commendation from none other than Hitler himself, irony, a dictator whose rule killed millions in a holocaust, praising a fellow german for saving lives of the chinese from the japanese. Gave me a right icy chill seeing his name spelt out, I can tell you. Anyway, if I have erred in my german or chinese history, I am sure there is a sinologist or zhong guo tong on these boards who knows more than me! Cheers and beers.
