In response to The "Laowai", Racism and Personal Space in China (An Inquiring Mind)

I am considering applying as an English teacher in Beijing or one of the other cities. Actually I got an offer, but I am a black American women. I was wondering how blacks are treated there before I come and feel like I've waisted my time and effort. It would be a wonderful experience to say that I have been to China but is it worth it. Please respond with an honest answer.
Thanks ;)
