I’m not loaded, just fortunate enough to come from a background that allows me a little bit of extra security, should things go wrong. For privacy reasons I won’t say too much on here, but I have previously earned far more from other jobs in China and view teaching as more of a career break then anything else and I plan to move on within the next two years at least. In fact, one of my hobbies sometimes pays better than my teaching salary.
