The New York Times has been panned by alternative media as well as independent journalists for being a propaganda mouthpiece for the supposed New World Order which wants to put out everybody as being equal and "the same". This tabloid will write and publish an article if the "price is right". I hardly bothered with taking said poster's thread seriously.

It is well known within the freedom loving Asian American circles that the Communist Regime spends hundreds of millions of dollars promoting themselves abroad as some sort of new, up and coming "civilization" of sorts ready to contribute to the world and make it a better place. This is money that is taken out of the people's hands. We are talking about a country where the poor can't even afford to wear enough clothes in the winter. Where a whole family who does farming still shares one or two sets of pants. Yet this will not change in the foreseeable future, and the suffering will still continue due to the unfair system of distribution in wealth that has been set up in said country.

I try not to post in a reactionary manner as much now because china is not the only country in the world for ESL teachers, and the less attention given to the place the better sometimes. Think of it like a sanction of sorts. But the original poster's agenda is a bit questionable. He/She even talked about the supposed "good" mandarin immersion schools (or "schools"?) located in the State of California in the United States of America which is a bit bizarre. Why not talk about the other ethnic groups that make up the landscape there? For example there is a huge ethnic Armenian population around Los Angeles. Any Armenian language immersion schools there? It certainly is a language that is spoken less than mandarin that's for sure, so that makes it more worth preserving. The fact that the conversation is always steered back towards trying to make China look "moderate" and desirable for those who may not know much about the place shows the possible Wumao nature of this writer.
