This is a very small amount...
By comparison, in Sept, China offered US$1.5 million to Pakistan for the victims of the earthquake in Baluchistan.
Any ideas why so little for the Philippines? My understanding is that it has to do with disputed islands in the South China Sea: China is not happy with the Philippines right now.
Anyway, it's a question that the thousands of Filipino English teachers in China must be asking themselves at the moment while themselves sending donations to the Philippines.
