Cleaning toilets in the West is probably a much better option that working at a TC in China, you hit the nail on the head there!

When I worked at a TC, there were times were I would have rather cleaned the toilets of the said TC than teach the classes from the textbooks. Sure, it is a shitty job, but there would be benefits such as avoiding the loser teachers, the spoilt brat type students, irritating Chinese staff on a power trip etc. Also, once you've got used to the smell, you could probably make the repetitive nature of the job, more bearable by sneaking in a walkman and whistling whilst you work.

Whereas in the TC office, there's kids running round like it is their personal playground, irritating teenage girls nagging you constantly, students wanting help with homework from school and you've got to put up with the very worst of commercial Western pop blasting out of the speakers, not to mention the occasional Christmas song in the middle of f**king April. Then you have got the foreigners to put up with.
