Student's vary, although they state that you will be teaching a variety of students in Asia. You won't. All of your students will be South Korean from a variety of companies. At times you will also have younger students which means that they are also learning English at school.

If you are currently working for Carrot, try to have some energy and character while you are talking to them. At times it will get frustrating and sometimes you realize that they are playing stupid. Some of them are arrogant but be prepared to ensure your position as teacher and them as student.

If you do consider working for Carrot, use it as a stepping stone to look for a more promising career. It's also a good foot in the door if you wish to be an ESL teacher. The job is also flexible, you are able to travel with your work as long as you have good internet connection.

It is important to understand that they do live a different culture from you so what you deem as ignorance may be the way North Americans are presented to them. You will have students who are willing to learn and some who are taking the class because their boss told them that they have o learn English.

Racism does exist, don't be alarmed. This is their culture- just ask them questions as to why they dislike it and politely say your opinion.
Black Teachers will be questioned and criticized and so do Asian teachers with darker skin. They can be racist just as much as you can be racist.
