Actually, most Indians with the exception of those from places such as Goa, actually eat milder dishes than most Brits. British Indians will often tell you that certain dishes just appeal to macho pisshead blokes.

For example, if you ever try a Vindaloo at a restaurant that is actually aimed at real Indians (there's a few wherever Indians are working in the shipyards, such as Dalian, China), you'll notice that it is just a relatively mild potato based dish.
