The reason that thread was locked down in my opinion is because a lot of rubbish was being discussed there, it was off topic, unprofessional, and that degreediscussion.com website is supposed to be about professional education and serious university programs.

Inane rantings about former ESL teachers in China do not belong there. And a joke of an "industry" like ESL, and also unprofessional China ( whose education system is a total joke all over the world among those in the know ) should not be discussed there either.
