The reason why people say it is like that for women in China, the Philippines, and SE Asia, is because usually they have a poor living condition. It is easier to marry a white man and be brought back to the US or another white country. There are white men who fetishize Asians, they have money, and there are Asian women who do not mind marrying to get out of their country. It's more of an escape thing than a gold digger thing.
