Free stuff for teachers

Topics and Questions FREE of charge

First, I am a mature male British Oral English Teacher with nearly five years experience in China teaching Chinese children and teenagers. Let me state that the following offer is entirely free of charge or obligation. It is specifically aimed at older Chinese college and university students, but will also be suitable in large part for middle school students. It would not be suitable for primary school students unless they are child-prodigies.

Ever have to ask your students individual verbal questions that allow you to test their ability to talk spontaneously and intelligently in English for short periods of between 1 and 2 minutes? In competitions or examinations similar to IELTS? Or do you need questions for your own English Speaking Competitions? If so, then you will have found out quite quickly how soon you run out of questions!

I have put together well over 300 questions and topics of a mature general knowledge nature suitable for older students starting somewhere during junior middle school grades. There are no questions or topics of a political, military, religious, or sexual nature likely to upset the Chinese establishment but there are a few that may cause frowns to appear on the faces of some Chinese teachers - these questions are highlighted.

The questions are numbered in increments of 2 and categorised under various subject headings. The list is produced in limited colour in Microsoft 'Excel 2000' spreadsheet and prints onto 13 landscape format pages of A4 size (assuming you print on one side only) and does not include a title page.

If you would like to have this question/topic list, you need to send me an e-mail destination address and I will e-mail it to you as an attachment by return. By the way, I am NOT a virus-freak - this is a genuine offer to bona-fide teachers - but if you prefer to play cautious, then do without the list and good day to you.

John
