Free stuff for teachers

Best places to find free software for teachers.

School and college education is a foundation for gaining knowledge, and the reason so many corporations provide free (or discounted) software for teachers and students is not only because of generosity but also because they want to create a workforce which knows about their product and is ready to implement their software solutions for their future employers. Even if a corporation creates the best product or software in the world, it is worthless if no one knows how to use it, customize it or program it.

Below are the best free or discounted software for Students/Teachers. Some of them are free and others are a free trial.

1. Visit Microsoft:
Microsoft provides loads of free and discounted softwares for Teachers. Visit microsoft.com/education/default.mspx for additional information.

2. Schoolforge.net
Even though it may not be the best looking website, it has a list of hundreds of software which students can use for free. You will find softwares on Multimedia, Educational, Office Tools, Web Based, Internet, Utilities and Antivirus/Spyware.

3. eFax:
Get a free fax number. If you are not too particular about the area code of your fax number then it is a great free service regardless you are a student/teacher or not. You can even check your faxes on the web like reading emails.

4. AVG Free:
One of the best free antivirus and it is totally free. You also get virus definitions and program upgrades for free.

5. ZoneAlarm free firewall:
Are you scared of unwanted programs trying to access your computer or other some unknown program already on your computer trying to go on internet and pass your personal information. Well, with this firewall you can precisely control which program can access or pass on information from your computer.

6. Google Apps:

Google apps provide a host of free applications and an excellent alternate for Microsoft office.

Well, this is just a small list. There are several other useful softwares and if I start writing about each one of them, the list is almost endless.

I have written several articles at http://www.writearticles.org and on this website depending on the topic I write. I hope that these tips will be helpful to you.
