How to Reach Taj Mahal

India, one of the hottest destination of South-east Asia, is embellished with both natural beauties as well as architectural masterpieces of historical significance. Every region in India is very special in its unique way.

Its for sure that you won't find any dearth of exotic sites in India. This incredible nation is renowned around the world for some of its World Heritage Sites that displays the architectural brilliance of the Mughal era.

Agra city of Uttar Pradesh is one of such destination which has some surviving relics of Mughal era.
One of such alluring monument of Agra is the Taj Mahal. It is fondly called as the "epitome of love". Constructed in white marble by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal attracts thousands of globe trotters every year. It is hard to resist the charisma of this exhilarating monument of Agra city. Beside Taj Mahal, Agra has some more tourist attractions such as Agra Fort. Nearby to Agra, there is another historical place known as Fatehpur Sikri. This city has some palaces made up of red sand stone. Even you can visit the mausoleum of Akbar, the greatest Mughal emperor which is located at Sikandra.

How to reach Taj Mahal:

By Air: Indian Airlines, the Domestic Airline in India runs flights from Delhi to Agra only on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Agra has a airport named Kheria Airport which is just 7km away from the Agra city and easily accessible by taxis and auto rickshaws. Taxis and auto rickshaws should charge Rs 200 and Rs 100.

By Rail: Agra has three Railway stations namely Agra Cantt Railway Station, Raja-ki-Mundi Railway Station and Agra Fort Railway Station. To reach Agra you can even board on The Shatabdi Express or Taj Express from New Delhi Railway Station or Nizamuddin Railway Station. The fastest train is the daily AC Shatabdi Express. It takes only 2 hours to reach Agra and charges Rs 395/ Rs 760 in Chair/executive. There is another cheapest option also i.e the Taj Express. It leaves from Nizamuddin Railway Station and only requires 2.5 hours to reach Agra. The fare is Rs 55 for 2nd class and 191 for chair car.

By Road: Agra is well connected to various Indian cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gwalior, and Jhansi. Express buses both a/c and non a/c are available. The long distance buses leave from Idgah Bus Station of Agra city. Hourly buses runs from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan bus station which take minimum 5 hours to reach Agra via Mathura. Rs 105 is the fare for per person. For return journey, you can board on the buses from Agra fort bus station.
