We have analysed 15 of our nearest competitors and drafted a highly competitive package in order to attract professionally-oriented candidates. We like teachers who are able to adapt lesson content, continuously monitor student performance, and follow contract guidelines as stipulated for both public and private teaching. Although we have grown significantly over the past four years, we are also committed to operating as a socially responsible service provider and providing state schools with good teachers (a proportion of our state schools students are not charged for our services).

 SDG will provide annual contracts that have been selected as the best option by the vast majority of our current teachers. Our teaching contracts are based on a guaranteed 15 PAID teaching hours per week (you should expect to spend a similar UNPAID period per week planning, marking and attending company meetings).

 Teachers can opt to take on extra hours (up to a total of 24 teaching hours per week). However such decisions will be based on the needs of the human resources department and availability during the term. Only those staff who are able to maintain a good standard of marking will be permitted to go above 18 hours per week.

 We offer strong hourly rates All NEW teachers will start on either $22 or $23 per teaching hour, pending on whether they are fully qualified or not. However our current teachers all earn $24 per teaching hour and are working toward the top rate of $25 per teaching hour (top 20%). Rates are based upon performance assessments conducted in the first/fourth/eighth and twelfth month of the contract (after TAX).

 Shelton DG will obtain and provide an initial 3 month working visa, however all teachers MUST apply and pay for a work permit during the first term of employment. As long as the teacher maintains a minimum standard during the 12 month contract then we will refund the permit cost and top up the BONUS amount to the tune of $1000 per annum. (Candidates must provide ORIGINAL degree and ESL certification, police check that can be verified by the relevant national authorities)

 These 12 month contracts include 10 weeks UNPAID leave encompassing national holidays, Christmas Day, the Tet holiday and 6 weeks of the summer term. (All candidates should note that some staff may have to relocate for 6 weeks during the summer term in order to fulfil the total requirement of teaching hours for the year).

 Shelton DG will provide extensive and unadulterated advice in reference to accommodation, travel and living conditions in Vietnam.

These full-time positions usually entail 18 teaching-hours per week, set between the hours of 7am – 5 pm or 11am – 9 pm, spread over five days, for 42 weeks of the year.
Timetables usually include teaching at 2 – 3 locations, although you would not expect to travel to more than two sites in a single day.
