Tathva International School www.Tathva.co in Tokyo, Japan is seeking qualified, certified, and experienced teachers that are capable of handling classrooms with a high influx of new enrollments and quick expansion. Only 4 years ago the school started with only 4 students. This year, Tathva began the Japanese school year calendar in April with over 300 and are expecting an additional 50 more enrollments as expats from Asia & the West transfer into Japan during the summer months and enroll their children for September.
We are accredited by IPC for our Kindergarten and accredited by Cambridge for our Primary & Secondary program. We offer a competitive salary for the right candidate in one of the greatest cities in the world. Tokyo, Japan is the largest and most populated metropolitan area in the world with close to 35 million people and with the largest urban economy of $1.5 trillion dollars according to Wikipedia. It was named the third “most liveable city” in 2009 by Monocle and is a city overflowing with endless adventures, amazing culture, and dynamic living.
The school is located in the Edogawa Ward of Tokyo and is only a 10 minute walk to the Tokyo Metro Station, allowing the candidate to literally live in any area of Tokyo with a fast commute. Although we are an international school with open enrollment to all, our primary enrollment comes from India with local enrollment of Japanese and other Asian students as well.

REQUIREMENTS:
MUST hold a bachelor’s degree in primary education AND teaching credential / certification from USA, Canada, Australia, UK, or other English speaking country.
Preference: international school teaching experience.
Start date: August 2014 (beginning of our 2nd school trimester)
BENEFITS:
Annual Net Income: 270,000 to 290,000 Yen based on experience. Salary negotiable based on experience
Visa: All visa costs are reimbursed to candidate upon arrival.
Vacation: 3 personal days, 3 paid weeks in August, 3 paid weeks in December, 10 Japanese holidays.
Airfare: Airfare is not covered by the school and is the responsibility of the candidate.
Medical insurance: Insurance is not covered by the school. Japan’s National Health Insurance is paid by candidate.
Advance pay: ½ month’s salary is paid upon arrival to help cover cost of airfare plus ½ month’s salary is given as a pay advance for living costs during first month until first pay period. The pay advance is then deducted over the first 4 months of salary. This pay advance is optional. It is recommended that each candidate arrive with at least 400,000 Yen for initial living costs and apartment deposits.
