Japan, with its distinctive and oriental culture that makes it a unique place in this world, an unparalleled history, upcoming cities, innovative technology and of course with rich seafood that sets it apart from other places, has remained a memorable destination for the western tourists.

You can either take a long break or visit Japan for a short period to soak it its cultural heritage or take a short break and visit the ancient Shinto Temples, ride on the high speed bullet trains and attend the famous tea rituals at the restaurants.

Japan has different kinds of hotels and lodging facilities to suit every kind of visitor. You can choose from the best luxury accommodation to a single capsule staying options that are very cheap.

There are flights operating in and out of all Major US Airports to Tokyo and Osaka. Tickets can be booked for cheaper fairs in advance and group bookings do attract discounts when you negotiate with the airlines.

Japan boasts of five international airports and the air traffic is divided between these depending upon weather conditions and the traffic each one is able to handle. While two are built into the sea on artificial islands and are connected to the mainland by road and rail, the others are on the main land itself. Of course there are many airfields and airports around the other cities catering to domestic traffic too.

While in Japan you can either choose to fly to the nearest domestic airport or still better take the local high-speed train service connecting the islands to explore the local scene. You can see Japan from a closer distance when you travel by train.

Always plan a budget, look up for information and see how much it will cost you to travel and stay in Japan. You can buy a pre paid top up card for railway pass and buy pre paid SIM card that gives you both local as well as international connectivity. Check out the tourist information to check out the cost of dining as well as entry fee charged at various tourist destinations.

For those who wish to travel to the orient and cover east Asia with the first point of entry as Japan, criss cross travel through Japan and other neighboring countries into China, Russia and Korea etc can be very interesting. You can use the local ferry and travel along the sea route covering several ports and visiting all local places.
