The International School of the Sacred Heart (ISSH), located in Hiroo, Tokyo was founded in 1908 and belongs to a worldwide network of the Schools of the Sacred Heart.
ISSH is a multicultural Catholic school that warmly welcomes students and families from many faiths. The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes for 3, 4 and 5 year olds are for boys and girls, while grades 1-12 are for girls only. ISSH prepares its approximately 550 students for universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other countries. The school represents approximately 45 nationalities.
The International School of the Sacred Heart is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Our current enrollment is approximately 580 students with 50 countries represented in the student body. The faculty and staff represent more than 15 different countries. The school is unique in that we offer a Values program that serves as a thread woven through the academic and non-academic program. The school offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in High School, and our graduates are accepted into colleges and universities of their first choice in various fields around the world. The school and its staff provide a warm, loving, and caring atmosphere for the students.
