I believe he wants to protect you since he is concerned about potential stress you may have to experience if you would live in Korea. Living korea is very differnt from US for its culture and system. (Even for a person who moved from Korea to North america 10 years ago), I would find things to be very frustrating if I move back to Korea; I am not saying good or bad about one culture to the other but there are subtle but very sensitive customs and cultures you will come across and you may find it very difficult to understand and adapt or go with it at the least. Dealing with strangers there can be difficult since not all of them would provide deep understanding about your marriage since some people may be judgmental but not all. Your career opportunity may be limited to English arena like teaching and translation even though you are very qualified in certain area.

For such aspect, I believe he coming to US and you apply green card for him would be a feasible alternative should he decides to live in US; but respectively he will come across frustrating sides when he tries to adapt his life in US. I am not too bright person and it took me 10 years to feel comfortable and relatively (not absolutely) fluent with English and completed my professional qualification in North America (not US) But, with love, support and dedication, I trust he will adapt much smooth and have good home and career. However, I believe americans would feel more accepting about marring a foreigner and you two will feel more at easy.
