Travel, Teach, Live in Korea
I currently live in the US (NYC). I have my assets in Busan Korea. I'm recently married and have applied for Green card but am in the waiting period. I'm looking to start a business with my husband and would like to bring over some money from Korea to the US as seed money. I'm being stonewalled and would like to understand what the 'actual' rules are for transferring money from Korea to the US. What taxes, fees etc are involved. Can I send it from the Korea Exchange Bank to my bank account here in the US via wire transfer? I could also send it to someone else's account if that helped in some way, or a business account even. Please provide any information that you feel is relevant or refer me to anyone who might now more. Thnx
