English schools in Latin America
Throughout almost 70 years, San Silvestre has kept alive a special spirit and tradition that have earned it the reputation of being unique. San Silvestre offers a combination of British and Peruvian education that provides our students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive and globalised world. It also strengthens their commitment to Peru and encourages them to face the challenges of their own culture.
Education for Girls.
International Examinations:
San Silvestre offers the University of Cambridge IGCSE programme (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and the International Baccalaureate programme.
San Silvestre actually started in 1932, when Miss Nellie Kufal taught a small group of British children in Miraflores. Her teaching skills quickly gained recognition and the number of students grew until the group was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education in Peru in 1938.
In San Silvestre we show concern for each individual pupil, encouraging her to fully develop her potential. Our system is based on an individualised programme in which the development of each pupil’s own interests are respected. From Nursery (age 3) to Sixth Form in Secondary, each girl is encouraged to compete with herself and exceed her own goals.
