English schools in Latin America

Argentina - Buenos Aires
School:St. Hilda's College

Bilingual Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary (K-12) education.

Local and international qualifications. St. Hilda's has a strong academic, sport and music programme.

St. Hilda's College is a bilingual coeducational school offering instruction in Spanish and in English to students from the ages of 2 to 18. All sections are inspected and accredited by the Ministry of Culture and Education.

All students are taught towards the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) a group school leaving certificate examined by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.

Considerable thought is given to the quality of our teaching. The School promotes and supports the continuous development of its staff. Teachers contracted from the United Kingdom help ensure the staff are up to date and well versed in the latest teaching methods. Admission to selected AICE subjects is gained after careful evaluation of IGCSE 16+ examinations.

The school's Physical Education programme involves all students in an all-round development programme as well as offering the students ample opportunity to compete within Argentina and internationally.

Music is important in St. Hilda's. The Secondary school is justifiably proud of the quality of its orchestra which performs at various community and charity occasions. The school choir plays a key role in the life of the school.

The students are organized in Houses and compete for two shields in a varied programme of sporting musical and cultural events throughout the academic year.

The School enjoys spacious buildings in a garden setting with its own adjoining sports field. It is located in the suburb of Hurlingham which is 27 km from the Federal Capital, Buenos Aires. Hurlingham has easy access to the centre of Buenos Aires via excellent road and rail links.

Our children enjoy and profit from the fresh air, the ample space and the privileges of an experienced, well structured school in the pleasant setting of surrounding gardens.
