Know Your Rights

Where are you from Rebecca? Are you a native speaker? This is a very racist comment that you have made. I am a native speaker and I know many Non-native speaker who are excellent English teacher.
Unfortunately, Rebecca's attitude reflects the racist policies of the Chinese Foreign Affairs Office re foreign teacher recruitment. Said bureaucrats discriminate against non-Chinese nationals from countries whose first language isn't English, and even countries like Eire and South Africa, whose first language is English. Actually, in some cases, non-native speakers of English have English levels way above those of the average native speaker of English, which you have implied in your reply to Rebecca.
The bureaucrats in Beijing should leave Chinese EFL employers to decide upon whomever they wish to hire, and allow Z visas to be issued to each and every one of them! That would level the playing field in this respect!
