Thanks for your input.

BTW, yesterday at the PSB (much too palatial in my view) visa hall, there was more argy-bargy between two counter clerkesses and me re my house contract this time. I had been told during my first visit that day by one know-all clerkess that the original would be required, not a photocopy of it alone. I simply told her that that was not true. Then, after having to photocopy all 20 pages of the photocopy, I was told that that contract was not for my new place of abode, but for my previous one. I apologized and said my wife was an idiot! She said maybe not an idiot, but not careful! I returned to my previous flat, not so far from the visa hall, unlike my new abode out in the sticks, to check the contract with my stepson's wife and borrow the huko because the original plus a photocopy of one of its pages was also required. After a tasty lunch, I re-visited the PSB with the 20-page photocopy of the photocopy of the house contract. Once again, it was rejected. Then I let the clerkess speak to my wife on the phone. Result: my wife has turned out to be no idiot, unlike the two clerkesses who had both initially deemed my contract submission invalid as regards my RP application. After asking a clerkess if my paperwork was in order now, I was told it was. I commented that that was great. Then I asked when I would be able to obtain my RP. I was told to return in "about two weeks". I thanked her profusely before departing. She said nothing,

BTW, I had handed them my medical that morning, about 90 minutes after having visited the hospital to fetch it, saying they could keep it, as I had no interest in its findings.
I'm glad I won't have to take two buses from here to the visa hall until the end of the month, and spend about two hours' travelling time to and fro in the process.(though the bus fare is just one RMB/bus ride) As for the clerkesses always giving me an unfriendly reception, as they wish. If they choose to have no manners, that's their problem! I don't mind their ignorance - I've gotten used to it after having made relatively many visits to there over the years. I think in their view, familiarity breeds contempt as regards me. No matter!
