It may be that your local PSB were being over-zealous, but the idea that your wife could take the medical instead of you seems absurd and a strange interpretation of the rules.

When I read Foxy's original post, I read it as him saying that Chinese people don't mind being subservient, so he was happy to go along with this bizarre suggestion for his wife to undergo the medical instead of him, in the true spirit of, if you keep a dog why bark yourself?- hahaha. But I see by his reply to you that I was mistaken in my understanding of what he said.

I like China but I wouldn't be able to put up with all the argy-bargy entailed with visas , medicals and residence permits required to live in the country permanently like you and foxy. What about yourself, you have opened up your own...(time for a euphemism if I were Turnoi or SB writing this) 'school'- well don't you get a special visa if you actually start a bricks&mortar business in China? Will you by the way be using recruiters to find your FT's or will you be sending invitations out to San Migs, SB, Turnoi?

By the way, a poster has e-mailed me and suggested it might be nice to get the views of the Chinese Mrs Beelzebub on this forum. I put it to her and in a few months time we may see an occasional 'Mrs Beelzebub Says' Hahaha-all good fun. Trouble is is she is a little fiery and doesn't always agree with me. She's busy at the moment but we are expecting a little Beelzebub, so she'll be at home a lot.
