You have chosen to advise FTs newly arrived in China with homeland medicals to agree to undergo second medicals in China. In contrast, I disagree with said advice. Just the way the cookie crumbles! Leave it at that. End of.........!
No I didn't; this is fallacious stuff which was rampant (not by you) during the evil days of the seedy-six. This is what I said in the post you have just answered-and let me select the excerpt this time ,please

There would therefore not be a second medical in China to argue about- only the Chinese one. I should change that American expression to 'just the way the straw man stumbles' All medicals should be undergone in China, otherwise don't accept the job. The Chinese rely on unassertive Westerners to move the goal posts. You can forge your own medical certificate but you should enlist the aid of somebody like amused poster who did a medical degree. But that would be a very rare case indeed to justify that and hardly worth our consideration.

I did not suggest that FTs refuse to undergo homeland medicals. I said 'if they took them, they should refuse to undergo second medicals in China if their homeland medicals were recently done. Your reading skills need improving!

Some Chinese employers insist foreigners undergo homeland medicals before obtaining their Z visas in their homelands and venturing forth to China. No mention of a second medical was made at that time. So, as far as I'm concerned, trying to impose a 2nd medical out of the blue when you're within China is sharp practice, and what's worse, contrary to the visa regs. One needs to get 'bolshy' as u say, to let 'em know you have balls! Or they will take more liberties with you. Know your rights, and ensure the other side applies them to you!

When I first came to China, in 1994, http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/legal/index.pl?f!2~orm=810the college tried to pull that 2nd medical stunt on me. I refused, got my RP, and taught there for 2 years, 2 separate 1 year contracts, btw, without undergoing any new medicals, Chinese or homeland. In those days, everyone had to undergo a homeland medical first before going to China. These days, some provinces/employers still insist on it. If the job pays well, you might agree. But once in China you should refuse a 2nd medical in principle.
