What's Missing? - Short Lesson
By:jin
Arrange several objects in a line in front of a group of children, naming each one as you place it in the row. Have the children repeat the name of each object. Then cover the objects with a cloth. While the children close their eyes, take one object away. Tell them to open their eyes and ask them, "What's missing?" The children must guess in complete sentences. If you increase the similarity of objects--for example, a red ball, a green ball, a yellow ball--the students must guess using adjectives as well as nouns.
