Motivating employees, volunteers and groups can be important to the success of your organization. The easiest and least expensive way to motivate associates on a weekly basis is to host motivational meetings. Motivational meetings allow groups of people to come together and reinvigorate the excitement they have for the work they do.

Identify the goal of your meeting. You may have employees who are bored with their jobs, or volunteers that are losing steam. Identify who you are trying to motivate and what you are trying to motivate them to do. Write these items down and plan your meeting to address those points.

Reserve meeting space. Determine how many attendees will attend and reserve the appropriate amount of space. You can hold the meeting on site, but sometimes it energizes employees and volunteers to get away from the project or work.

Offer food or snacks at the meeting. Bagels, muffins, sandwiches, and wraps are all great foods to offer your attendees. Be sure you make coffee and soda available, too. Make paper plates, napkins and cups available.

Start your meeting with a game. Have each person introduce himself and state one fact about themselves that the others might not know. This allows them to bond with each other and see each other as people. It is much easier to be motivated about your work or project if you enjoy the other people involved. It's easier if you connect with them on more levels than just the work.

Hire a guest speaker. Guest speakers can bring a new point of view to an old situation. Guest speakers with touching stories that are directly affected by your project can help to motivate employees and volunteers more than any theoretical knowledge.

Hire entertainment. Hire a magician that pulls objects out of an empty hat to show your group that something can come from nothing. Hire jugglers to show employees that it is possible to handle many things at once. Hire a band to show the difference that each instrument makes to the song.

Remind everyone of their common goals. It is easy to get distracted by games and gimmicks in motivational meetings. Be sure to remind everyone about the purpose of your project or work. Reiterate the impact it has on the outside world and your group.

Hold an open forum. Allow the meeting attendees to voice their concerns about the work or project. Work together to brainstorm solutions for problems your team may be having.
