Sleep Well To Feel Well

Sleeping is important to all of us because if we lack sleep, it can change how we function in our daily lives. The lack of sleep can also cause a lot of problems in the long run. Examples of the problems that we might face are:

1. It has been reported that when people lack sleep, they will have a poor memory. Thus, those who cram during exams will most likely fail since they won't be able to remember the things that they have studied.

2. Weight gain - By not getting enough sleep, our body's normal metabolism gets altered. Our bodies tend to work more when we have more waking hours. In addition our hormonal levels can also be changed. This changes in our hormones make us think that we need to eat more, thus, causing to weight gain.

3. When people lack sleep, they are putting themselves in great danger since they are feeling sleepy and tired the rest of the day, thus, they don't think well. This can cause accidents since they are not thinking clearly. Because we feel sleepy, our work gets affected and we can't be able to deliver the results expected from us. This, as well, can cause driving accidents because we might fall asleep while driving. Although try as we might not to let that sort of accident to happen, we cannot stop our brain and body from shutting down because they do need to rest even though our cells do not stop functioning while we are asleep. Our brain works the hardest when we are awake. Thus, for it to be able to slow down and recharge, we need to take a few hours daily.

4. When we did not get enough sleep, the tendency is for us to get very irritable and we become impatient. In return, these may make you feel too tired to do the things you're supposed to do.

5. When we don't have enough sleep, we get stressed easily even with simple things because of the changes of our bodily hormones. The worst part is, stress is one of the causes of many ailments. It is, in fact, detrimental when we have to work but our body is telling us to rest. When our bodily processes are not in harmony, we easily get burnt out and stressed.

6. Haven't you noticed than when you lack sleep your heart beats faster? The truth is, lack of sleep can cause a lot of cardiovascular ailments like hypertension and irregular heart beat. Immunodeficiency diseases have been linked to lack of sleep because our immune system gets altered if we continuously lack sleep.

So if you want to avoid these problems, make sure that you get enough sleep. Getting at least 6 hours of sleep daily is essential. It would help to wear something that you can be comfortable in so that your sleep will be continuous, undisturbed and peaceful.
